Copernicus Principle: Earth and Solar System

In this presentation, I will be telling you about the Copernican Principle, What uncrewed space exploration has taught us about space, What makes our planet habitable, and whether or not there is other life beyond our planet. In physical cosmology, the Copernican principle is a different name for the principle of relativity, claiming that humans, on the Earth or in the Solar system, are not privileged observers of the universe.

The Copernican Principle proves that Earth is not the center of the universe. “It is a very handy principle, since it implies that here and now is the same as there and now, and here and then is the same as there and then. We do not have to look back in time at our current location to see how the universe was in our past – we can just look very far away, and given the large light travel time, we are looking at a distant part of the universe in the distant past.

Given the Cosmological Principle, their past is the same as our past.” Basically claiming that it gives a bigger understanding of how the universe came to be and how it was then vs now. The dawn mission began 09/27/07 at 3:45am .Dawn was the first spacecraft to orbit two extraterrestrial destinations. When Dawn arrived at Ceres, it was also first to visit a dwarf planet. Dawn reinforced that dwarf planets, not just icy moons, could have hosted oceans during a large part of their history—and potentially still do.

The maximum speed it went 25,640 Voyager 1 successfully flew by both the Jupiter and Saturn systems before continuing out into the farthest most reaches of our solar system.  Voyager 1 has been observing the interplanetary medium throughout its journey, and is now in interstellar space since August 2012. On Nov. 29, 2017, engineers successfully fired Voyager 1’s thrusters after 37 years of inactivity.During the Jupiter leg of its journey, Voyager 1 was to explore the giant planet, its magnetosphere and moons in greater detail than the Pioneer spacecraft that preceded it.

Voyager 1 targeted Jupiter and Saturn before continuing on to chart the far edges of our solar system.Voyager 1 met all of its goals except for the experiments planned for its photopolarimeter, which failed to operate. The spacecraft found three new moons: Prometheus and Pandora, the 'shepherding' moons that keep the F ring well-defined, and Atlas which similarly shepherds the A ring. Saturn's largest moon, Titan, was found to have a thick atmosphere which hides its surface from visible-light cameras and telescopes. There is only one planet we know of, so far, that is drenched with life. That planet is Earth, and it has all the right conditions for critters to thrive on its surface. Do other planets beyond our solar system, called exoplanets.

NASA's Kepler mission is helping scientists in the quest to find these worlds, sometimes called Goldilocks planets after the fairy tale because they orbit where conditions are 'just right' for life.An important part of this research is the continuing investigation into exactly where a star's habitable zone starts and stops. That perfect Goldilocks planet within the zone wouldn't necessarily be home to any furry creatures. But it would have the potential for some type of life to abound, if even microbes. According to Nasa there is no other habitable planet that they have found yet. We are still learning, and need more technology to find other life.
