Are there any well-functioning countries in the world that actually have ANTI-DYNASTY LAWS in place?

I have tried looking for resources on such restrictions in place in other countries and haven't found any.

Why?

Because when I GOOGLED the phrase "anti-Dynasty law" or "anti-Dynasty provision" or "anti-Dynasty restriction", a GAZILLION ENTRIES from the Philippines or pertaining to Philippine politics came up.

I cannot find anything about the existence of ANTI-DYNASTY RESTRICTIONS in other countries (particularly advanced or well-functioning countries) at all because practically everything pertaining to anything "anti-dynasty" in the google results comes from THE PHILIPPINES!

It's as if this obsession with the concept of dynasties and preventing their emergence through outright legislation or via Constitutional ban is a wholly ONLI-IN-DA-PILIPINS phenomenon.

It's as if Pinoys have become so brainwashed into thinking that dynasties and dynasties alone are the ultimate bane of our society, instead of understanding that the existence of dynasties is merely a symptomatic indicator of deeper underlying phenomena such as ECONOMIC INEQUALITY resulting from the dearth of economic opportunities.

What Filipinos - even well-credentialled academics, some of whom are friends of mine - seem to miss is that DYNASTIES PER SE ARE NOT THE REAL ISSUE, but rather the existence of BAD DYNASTIES, that is, POLITICAL FAMILIES that allow incompetent family members to occupy positions of power by inheriting the incumbency advantage, name recall, and brand name that the family enjoys in order to easily win elections, and thus inflict the incompetence of such incapable members on hapless constituents who will suffer the lousy output produced by the bad member(s).

What is obvious to many is that if there are bad dynasties, there are good dynasties too: that is, there are families who produce a steady stream of extremely competent and savvy members who produce very positive results that benefit the constituents who vote for them.

With this, I aim to pointedly question why there is such an obsession among people in Philippine Society regarding the phenomenon of "DYNASTIES."

Is it because many (perhaps most) Filipinos are untrained in the art and science of DIGGING DEEPER and doing ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS?

Because as I had already clearly stated, the existence of DYNASTIES is simply a symptomatic indicator of some deeper phenomenon or issue, very much analogous to the fact that a product's higher prices is a symptomatic indicator of the relative scarcity of that product in relation to the demand for it.

Should we therefore suppress higher prices by having the government prevent sellers from selling certain products above a certain price ceiling, never mind that demand has suddenly gone up in relation to supply?

Or shouldn't we respect the Law of Supply and Demand which just simply reflects the way the market works so that if demand greatly exceeds supply of a particular product, the price increases to create an incentive for producers to produce more of the same product, so that eventually, they produce enough of it to meet the demand and achieve equilibrium thereby stabilizing the price to return to the product's original price?

(Setting up price controls to prevent high prices of a product doesn't solve anything as it doesn't address the underlying scarcity versus demand of a product, thereby leading to shortages. Without market dynamics causing the price to go up when demand goes up relative to supply, there is no incentive for producers to produce more of the product in order to meet increased demand.)

Shouldn't we use the existence of DYNASTIES as an indicator that Philippine society has too few rich-enough people who have the resources to run campaigns, and that therefore, something must be done in order to create more opportunities so that more people achieve a comfortable enough material existence allowing some of them to join politics?

Because every time I read about this clamor among so-called Pinoy intellectuals and academics about the absolute need for anti-Dynasty laws, it all just reminds me of how Pinoy Leftists and Communists have a very poor understanding of Economics and the Law of Supply and Demand and thus would like to "repeal the Law of Supply and Demand" and set up all sorts of idiotic price controls... In other words, setting up BAND AID SOLUTIONS that aim to suppress symptoms without trying to solve the DEEPER MALAISE.

I do, however, note that two well known Filipina academics have both mentioned that they do not quite agree with banning or suppressing political dynasties: Prof. Edna E. A. Co and Prof. Clarita Carlos...

Both of them have in the past strongly mentioned their opposition to such "undemocratic restrictions" because ultimately, it is patently unfair to prohibit a person from running for office simply because he or she happens to be related to someone else who is either already in office or running for another post.

Personally, I make a distinction between Good Dynasties versus Bad Dynasties. More importantly, I understand that even good political families (aka "Dynasties") that have good members sometimes produce bad eggs too.

If we are going to have Dynasties anyway, we might as well end up only with Good Dynasties with only Good members.

The trick is coming up with a system that allows only the best members to excel in politics while potentially humiliating and thereby DISCOURAGING the worst and most incompetent members from trying to even join it.

And this, Ladies and Gentlemen, is where the PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM comes in.

With a Parliamentary System, you do not need to set up minimum paper qualifications such as allowing only college graduates to run for office. The system by its very ultra competitive nature will naturally weed out slackers and incompetents.

A Parliamentary System will naturally allow the best people to shine, regardless of whether they be members of well known political families or not. Such a system will also naturally expose who are incompetent and lousy.

Question Time and the regular Parliamentary Debates will show who is smart and who is stupid. Matira ang matibay!

Moreover, the Electoral System and even the Electoral ballots can be designed so that the Electorate does not elect candidates based on their names or family named but instead elects PARTIES, thus shifting the emphasis away from personality and name recall over to party platform and party track record.

This is the one thing that the ConCom oldies and so many members of the House of Representatives who set up the Veloso House Draft forgot to add in the mix. The ConCom, back in late Feb 2018 voted to retain the Presidential System, not realizing that the adoption of the Parliamentary System was the secret ingredient they needed to add if they wanted to create a fool-proof system.

Instead, the oldies insisted on sticking with the current presidential system and placing in all sorts of patently UNDEMOCRATIC band aid symptom-suppressants such as (1) a requirement that candidates for public office have at least a university degree, (2) suppressing dynasties by setting up restrictions that prevent people from running for office if relatives within 2 degrees of consanguinity alread
