Laws and rules govern sports in order to make it more entertaining as well as ensuring that the participants are using their skills to compete. There is a reason why there exists so many sports and the reason is that not everyone is talented enough to be successful in all sports but an individual chooses the best sport that suits his or her wellbeing and learn the rules of the game in order to perfect the skill and talent they have.

Athletes have the chance to choose the game that they prefer and the fact that not everyone is involved directly in sports means that it is not a matter of life and death but participate where possible. Athletes should be able to compete on their personalstandards in order to provide the competitiveness, which makes games more lively and attracting to watch. Athletes should not be allowed to use performance enhancing drugs or techniques. This argumentative paperprovides detailed focus on some of the key reasons explaining why athletes should not be allowed to use performance enhancing drugs or technique.

The incidence of performance enhancing drugs have been reported since the first episode of the Olympic Games. The main reason why people resort to use of performance enhancing drugs or technique is mainly to have an upper hand against their rivals that is cheating. Cheating is a vice that is not encouraged anywhere even on academics. This means that allowing the use of performance enhancing drugs would create a very difficult environment where it would be difficult to have accurate results that are based on the ability of different individual. The beauty of any sport is to see someone performing better than the other does and thus even when performance-enhancing drugs are legalized, the situation would not change. This is mainly because individuals would be encouraged differently and thus there will always be the first one and the last one, which means that there is no significant change that would have been developed within such encouragement. The argumentative approach that would be adopted in this case will focus on deductive approach in creating a significant understanding reading the main issue that is being developed in this case. Deductive approach in this case will provide arguments from a general perspective to a more specific perspective where it would be much easier to relate to the different level of focus that is being considered in this paper.

Arguments

Performance enhancement drugs provide unfair competition within the sport. Nobody is forced to participate in any given sport. A key factor that pushes an individual into sport is the understanding that they are talented enough and thus can be successful as well. It is a common understanding that even though athletes might be competing in the same sport, there exists variations in their ability to perform better within a given sport. These variations make the game more interesting and it creates a high level of self-satisfaction when a winner is declared to have won fairly without use of any given performance enhancement drugs. In an event where performance enhancement drugs are used, it will create a very difficult environment where it would be possible to understand the difference between highly skilled athletes ad less skilled athletes. The unfair competition that is created in this case will provide a boring environment under which it will be very difficult to control the flow of the game that is an important aspect (Gaffney, 2013).

Every athlete always work hard to be the best and the use of performance enhancement drug will limit this morale and high level of motivation that athletes usually have as they aimed for success. It is important to ensure that only those who are able to compete do compete within that particular sport since it is not necessary that an individual participate in a certain game. If an individual is not able, he or he should leave for those who can compete to do so without focus on performance enhancement drugs or technique. Competition need to be regulated and ensure that it attracts high level of professionalism. The overall engagement within sport is by choice and not mandatory for anyone.

Performance enhancement drugs pose a significant health risks to athletes. Sports should be entertaining where both the athlete and the fans find happiness and satisfaction through the manner in which they perform their tasks. Integrating performance enhancement drug is more like allowing drug abuse since they tend to have major negative effects to the users. It is not an important thing to consider within sports industry where athletes engage in drugs. The short-term advantages might be fulfilling but there is need to ensure that the life of the athletes is well take care of considering the fact that the lives of athletes are more important than the sports. Therefore the overall focus on this case should be specifically be developed to ensure that there is satisfaction on both sides where athletes can be able to review their success during their old days and find total satisfaction from their performance which was their own efforts without any forms of assist(Gabbett et al., 2017).

Once the performance enhancement drugs are allowed to be used by athletes it will be difficult to control the levels that are required in order to have an equal use of drugs among all athletes. This will present a very difficult focus within the world of sports. There will be need to put in place crucial measures which will keep track of the levels of drugs which are used by athletes. These aspects will be very difficult to monitor considering that, all athletes will seek to use varying levels of drugs. Unfairness will still exist in the game and thus it will be easier to manage a performance enhancement free sports industry than an industry that has lost focus where athletes are using drugs within any significant limits in place. An entertaining sport is where the athletes have varying natural strength where they compete based on their personal understanding and what they hope to integrate within the sports environment(Greely et al., 2013).

Performance enhancement drugs and technique will lead to very lazy athletes. Athletes are usually motivated by the equal chance that they have when participating with others and thus as a result, they always put in placemany efforts to ensure that they are victors. Athletes are always known to be hard workers a key trait that positively embraced within the society. Society is supposed to be developed based on real and factual information without significant focus short cuts that at the end will always be detrimental to those who participate. A society that is based on shortcuts where they are willing to do anything for success even if it means cheating will create a very difficult environment where young individuals can grow up knowing exactly what need to be considered in creating a better focus and positive elements(Jordan & Audia, 2012). Allowing performance enhancement drugs will limit the level of motivation and hardworking since the drugs will be tasked with playing a greater role in converting laziness into success which is not an important thing to consider especially in current society when there are many issues that have created a very difficult environment under which better decisions can be made. People tend to focus on easy options that have injurious impact on their wellbeing. Use of drugs has never had any positive long-term impact on the users and considering many years that athletes are involves in the game frequent use of the drugs will automatically have a toll on their health(Ziltener, Leal, & Fournier, 2010).

Allowing use of performance enhancement drugs will not have any significant change on the outcome within sport environment. The objective of drugs in sport is usually to ensure that a given athlete has an upper hand over the others and thus could turn out to be more successful. However, it is important to understand that this focus is mainly because they are being used secretly where an upper hand can be developed on the part of the athlete who uses these performance enhancers. Allowing performance enhancement drugs will not be available to a specific population of athletes but they will be available for everyone. Performance enhancement drugs tend to enhance performance of everyone differently depending on the level of engagement between the users. This means that high performers without the drugs will remain even higher performers when using the drugs. Thus, there will no significant difference not unless the rules are changed where low performers are accorded the chance to use while high performers are denied to create some sort of balance. It is also important to understand that there have been cases where individuals who have been found using drugs were defeated. This means that the use of drugs might not necessarily transform into success(Outram & Stewart, 2013).

Counter argument

Technology is being integrated into sports and the main purpose of technology in sports is to be used. The use of performance enhancement is mainly aimed at improving the sports environment where it would be important to have a positive engagement with different players within the sports industry. There is already unfairness within the sports especially considering the fact that the training methods that are being used by athletes vary significantly. This is a form of unfairness within sports world that has not been addressed. This raises significant questions when the issue on performance enhancement drugs and techniques is raised, people start talking about inequality and unfairness not knowing that there is already unfairness and a playground which is not level hence creating the existing issues. Therefore, it is very clear that allowing performance enhancement drug and techniques do not destabilize the existing sporting environment(Petersen, 2010).

The sporting industry is improving and thus there are crucial measures that are being put in place to ensure that sport develops effectively on all fronts. There have been no known negative impact on performance enhancement drugs on any athlete that would provide a better understanding on the assertion that performance enhancement drugs are detrimental to athletes’ health in the future.

Argument against counter argument

The existing differences in sports regarding coaching method that are being used by athletes are accepted by the rules that have been put in place and in sporting world, rules dictate the direction which the sports take. There is no way weather conditions can be changed to suit the demands of a given athlete toperform better. The accessibility of the training environment and methods is an open process, which cannot be disputed, and thus every athlete has the choice to select his or her own methods of training as long as they are able to compete. However, it is also important to understand that different regions are accustomed to different type of sports(Greely et al., 2013). This means that it is important to put into consideration the key issues within sports in engaging the athletes. The long-term use of drugs always has a negative influence especially drugs, which are aimed to have a greater influence on individual performance levels. This means that it is not true to ascertain that long-term use of drugs cannot harm an athlete. The use performance enhancement drugs and technique cannot be able to guarantee a healthy future for athletes when it is allowed. It will create a very negative focus within the sports world when youngindividuals want to join sports they look up to sick mentors who are unable to understand the development of the game over the years due to the excessive use of performance enhancement drugs.

Conclusion

The use of performance enhancement drugs and technique is a decision that cannot be implemented in the sporting world considering the fact that sports are developed under crucial focus and understanding on the fundamental aspect of competition. Developing a positive sporting environment is key in ensuring that there is focus on better techniques which can be incorporated in sports to guarantee that athlete have a better environment under which they can better understand that there are more positive aspects that can be incorporated within sporting world. These measures will be key in improving athlete performance.Suchmeasures would include improved training in supporting athlete performance rather than performance enhancement drugs.
