Agribot Mechanical structure

Introduction

Agribot is a robot that is designed for agricultural purposes to minimize the labor of farmers in addition to increasing the speed and accuracy of the work. It is a multi-purpose autonomous robot that helps in seed sowing and pesticide spraying to prevent crops and increase the productivity. Agribot is a revolution, which enters into orchards and plantations. Completely changes the way we think about carrying out work on the protection and plant breeding. Find out how you can benefit from this revolution.

Literature Review

The main purpose of the project is to increase productivity and effectiveness of agricultural land. It will help in sowing of agricultural land and to prevent it from unwanted pests. It will use image processing for pesticides spraying to identify the unwanted weeds and will sow seeds after regular intervals.

A lot of research has already been done on agribots and they are being used successively in agricultural lands. In July 2014 a paper was published by Amritanshu Srivastava.

This paper describes the DTMF technology to control the robotic vehicle for farming. In Feb 2016 ASHISH LALWANI published a paper on autonomous agribots for smart farming. This paper describes the harvesting and seeding by using Agribot which is controlled by Arduino. In April 2017 Arnold Flavious published a paper on Agricultural Robots. This paper describes a robot contains a hopper, harvester and plougher mechanism. These components are controlled by AT89S52 and operated by remote control.

Acrylic Frame:

It is often used in sheet form as a lightweight or shatter-resistant alternative to glass. PMMA means poly methyl methacrylate, also known as acrylic glass. It is also a transparent thermoplastic.

Acrylic is used for signs, displays, windows of roofs, and screens. Acrylic is a transparent plastic that is used because it is ability replace the glass. But it is also used for demanding constructions for such as windows in fiber optics in the flat TV screens.

Aluminum Sheet:

Aluminum sheet is defined as cold rolled material over 0.2mm thick but not exceeding to 6mm thick.

It is a sheet that is a raw material for parts as diverse and as automotive side panels, storage tanks walls, architecture panels and signs. The properties of aluminum sheet show that it has high performance, durability and long life for its end products. These includes: Low weight. Excellent corrosion resistance.

Gauge sizes are the numbers that indicate the thickness of a sheet metal piece, with a higher number to a thinner sheet referred. The equivalent thicknesses different foreach gauge size that were developed for a given material based on the weight of sheet.

Flywheel:

It is a wheel in a machine that is heavy revolving and that is used to increase the machine's momentum and provide stability greater or of available power reserve.

A mechanical device that is a flywheel is specifically designed to store rotational energy efficiently. By their moment of inertia it resist the changes in rotational speed. The flywheel has stored amount of energy is proportional to rotational speed of squares. By applying a torque with its symmetry axis the is way to change a flywheel's stored energy is it by increasing or decreasing its rotational speed.

Common uses of a flywheel involves:

Smoothing the power output of an energy source. E.g. In reciprocating engines flywheels are used because the torque active from the individual pistons is broken.

Energy storage systems.

Rates at delivering the energy past the of an energy source ability. By summing energy of flywheel over time and then releasing it quickly, at rates that increase the abilities of the energy source it is achieved.

Mechanical system orientation controlling , reaction wheel and gyroscope.

Bearings:

A bearing is a machine element that constrains relative motion to only at the desired motion, and reduces friction between moving parts.

Bearing is used to for linear or rotational motion, while reducing friction and stress handling. Bearings literally permit devices to roll, that reduces the friction between the surface of rolling and surface of the bearing.

A mechanical bearing is a component used between two parts that allows rotational or liner movement, reducing friction and enhancing performance to save energy.

Shafts:

A shaft is basically a machine element that is moving or rotating , usually circular in the cross section, which is used to transmit power from one form or part to another, or from a machine which makes power to a machine which absorbs the power.

Shaft is also a element for transforming torque and rotation, because of distance or the need to permit for respective motion between them. It is usually used to connect other components that cannot be fix directly.

Chain Drive:

The way of transforming mechanical power from one place or point to another place or point is chain drive. To convey power to the vehicle wheels, mostly bicycles and motorcycles. It is also used in a most variety of machines.

Tank Caterpillar Mechanism:

Caterpillar tracks work on the same principle as a conveyer belt. The tank engine rotates one or more steel sprockets, which move a track made up of hundreds of metal links. The tank's wheels ride along the moving track, just like the wheels in a car run along the road.

Solenoid valve:

A solenoid valve is an electromechanically operated valve. The valve is controlled by an electric current through a solenoid: in the case of a two-port valve the flow is switched on or off. Solenoid valves are the most frequently used control elements in fluidics. Their tasks are to shut off, release. In this system solenoid valve like arrangement is used to drop the seeds in the farm when seeding is to be done by robot.

X-Y Plotter Mechanism:

An X-Y plotter is a plotter that operates in two axes of motion in order to draw continuous vector graphics. The term was used to differentiate it from standard plotters which had control only of the "y" axis, the "x" axis being continuously fed to provide a plot of some variable with time

The invention of the X-Y plotters is to recording or plotting two-dimensional data on a rectangular coordinate system. This study emphasizes the fabrication of a XY plotter by using mechanism from scanner and microcontroller system (Arduino) to control the movement of XY axis. Modeling and analysis on X-Y plotter is carried out through the computer linked with the Arduino software. It is executed through the algorithm and G-Code and Java programming.
