Being the man the house is a very important role to men. In the story “A Raisin in the Sun” Walter was left to be the man of the house after his father passed away. Walter had crazy moods only because he wanted things to go his way. Walter also wanted the best life for his mother and a new home for his family. Walter took a crazy risk trying to get what he wanted. Lorraine Hansberry.

On the southside of Chicago, The Younger family lived in small two bedroom apartment, with Walter being the man of the house.

Walter was a frustrated man being the man of the house. He wanted better for his mother and family. Even though Betty was always at him about his way, he managed to get over how people talked about him. Also he was frustrated about Ruth being pregnant. Ruth wanted him to save more money because they didn’t have it all. His family was not rich at all coming.

One day they received $10000 dollars. Walter’s mother wanted him to put the money towards Betty education, down payment on the house, and put the rest of the money out it up in the savings. Knowing Walter’s mindset he didn’t listen to her. He decided to look for business to invest the money into business.

As Walter spoke with different people to reach out with, he met a mane but the name of Willie to go in business with. Walter not knowing the man was just looking to run off with the money.

He soon found out from Bobo. In life, it’s hard breaking something to your family knowing sadness and problems will come behind it. Walter stood up and told every in the house about the lost of the money. Everyone had something negative to say like he figured the would behind his mistake. My opinion is Walter knew what he wanted to do all along is to move to another house. They all thought of ways to find help quickly. There came Karl Linder offering them money to buy their house back. Lina decided to tell Walter they were going to turn the offer down. They all had a plan b, knowing Lina put a down payment on a house. Now the family had something to depend on.

Walter and Lisa made a plan to move to the other house even though they were not wanted. The only had that to depend on. They all made arrangements to move in their new home. This brought happiness in their home because Walter and Lina made sure everybody was straight. My opinion is the man of the house should make good choices and make sure your down fall be your motivation. They made their final decision to move into Clayborne.

”A Raisin in the Sun” is really a good play. It’s shows Walter becoming the man of the house wanting better for his family. He wasn’t having the support he needed. Walter managed to get through his tough obstacles in his life and put his family in a new house. They all lived happy after and finally all got along.
