William shakespeare was born on April 23 1564 in Stratford upon Avon. His father John Shakespeare was a glove maker who had multiple public offices for about 20 yrs. In 1577 when William was 13 his father suffered financial losses. His economic status improved 1596-1601(His death). His mother Mary Shakespeare was the daughter of a landowner. The family gave its name to the nearby forest of Arden, which is the setting for his play “as you like it”. Only the date of her buriel is recorded. Shakespears had 7 brothers and sisters, Joan his sister died at the age of 11. Margeret died at the age of 5 months.

Gilber was a haberdasher and died at the age of 46. He had another sister name joan who lived to be 77 years old, and married a man named William Hart Anne died at the age of 6. His brother Richard whose occupation is unkown died at the age of 39 and his brother Edmund at 27 years old. William’s hometown was Stratford upon Avon a small country town in Warwickshire was a little bigger than a village. The main market cross stood at the junction in the center of the town. His family was devastated by a black death (Black Plague, Bubonic Plague). The plague stretched over Elizabethan Englandclaiming lives of countless victims.
