To be optimistic about something means to be hopeful and confident about it. The word optimistic can be applied to several things. Such as; a person, an idea, and to me, our Nation’s future. When someone is optimistic about something, the person, idea, or thing usually means something to them, and America’s future means something to me. It means a great deal to me because I live in a place where I have the freedom to make my own choices, have an opinion, and to worship our mighty God whom I love and serve . America also means something to me because it is a country that is worth fighting for. I am reminded every day of all the troops that have fallen and i am also reminded of the dedicated military that works so hard to make our home a better place. I am able to put all of my trust into my country’s future and I will forever remain optimistic about it. There are so many reasons why I am so optimistic but a few reasons stand out to me. The three that stand out to me are because of the potentially strong upcoming generation, because of America’s ability to stand back up after being defeated, and because of the knowledge and footsteps our past great leaders have left us.
I am so optimistic about the generation to come. Right now we are teenagers and young adults but someday very soon we will be the examples and we will be the ones leading America. I have so much hope that we will not let our country down. I am optimistic because we have been shaped and molded into great people and we are so fortunate to live in a place where all things are possible. Our families, teachers, and friends have told us sometime along that anything is possible if you set your mind to it and that is why we are going to make awesome adults someday. We have the knowledge and the mindset to become anything we want. Whether we go into politics, peruse a career in medicine, work in school systems, or even have a job as a sanitation engineer our nation couldn’t function without everyone working together, and that means being the best at what you do no matter what it is. We have been influenced and our hearts have been touched so much that we know the
responsibilities we will someday have are going to be hard but we will leave a legacy behind for the future leaders to follow.
America has been pushed, shoved, beaten, and broken since the beginning of its time. America has been through awful bloody wars and has had several terrorist attacks. There is nothing that it hasn’t expericanced but yet the people still are united. That is why I am so optimistic about our nations future because despite what has happened in the past we are still together and are prepared for what is coming next. For example, on September 11, 2001 we lost roughly 3,000 lives. Since that incident we have became closer as a country. Most countries would crumble after something like this, but not America. We stood tall and didn’t give up hope even in the darkest moments. We came back one million times stronger and now we are building the Freedom Tower where the World Trade Center once stood. When the Freedom Tower is finished, it will be a symbol of pride and it will show the world that if you knock us down we will always come back. Despite all the horrific disasters we Americans have encountered we can still trust in God like we always have.
It takes a past to make a future and we Americans happen to have a great past. I am optimistic about all the knowledge that was left here for us and how we are going to apply it. For example, Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. He believed in his dream so much that he died over it. If someone wouldn’t have done anything about segregation we could still be segregated today. If Neil Armstrong would have never walked on the moon then there is a possibility that no American ever would. If Elizabeth Blackwell would have gave up her dream to become a doctor then women might have not the eligibility to become one now. I am so optimistic because I cannot wait to see us make new achievements and to leave legacies behind for future generations to follow.
America is my home and I am so optimistic about it in every way possible. Our nation’s future is going to be bold, bright, and full of hope. I know that the upcoming generations will not let our country down. We will be faced with more unfortunate events but we will be ready. In the end America
will always be the nation that stands unshaken. I look so forward to when we are given a chance to make a difference in this world.
