Upon googling Kline,the website pops up with a couple links and pages associated with the company. The site is user friendly and very easy to navigate. The Design seems to be simple in the company’s light colored background and dark text. However, it looks professional, credible, and up-to-date.
The page loads and in the upper left corner appears the company name and logo. Under the logo, your eyes are drawn to a flashing graphics that’s advertising the company’s mobile app, and several tabs that relates to the different areas of business (home services, business services, Investor relations) conducted by the company. It’s fairly easy to recognize who’s site you’re on and what they are selling. There is a search bar at the top and a site map button on the bottom which makes it easier for users to go directly to what they may want. Other tabs on the home page allows the user to sign in, create an account, pay a bill, contact the company through social media outlets, and links to internal and external sources to educate the users on the benefits of natural gas.
There are also the company’s stock prices, earnings and publications that relate to the company’s financial side, along with the current price of their product and what the market price is. There are also tabs labeled-about us, help, careers, and contact us and many news articles related to the company and natural gas. Throughout the site, users are constantly educated and branded with the company’s name and their product. Users are given free content in the of information and a e-commerce platform needed to make a decision and a purchase.
At times I believed the site may have too much text Though there are some videos and links to other videos, I believe there could be more embedded on the site due to many users tend to be more visual. One of the drawbacks in my opinion is though there are email and phone contact information for the company, I would have like to have seen some interactive chat room or maybe a company blog as to get user and customer feedback and also as another way to communicate the release of upcoming products. As far as I can tell they have no real means of getting input from customers on the site outside of social media (which is still pretty good) and telephone and email.
And maybe some personalization options as to be able to modify the font sizes and such. I believe that the site provides value to the company because it allows the company to brand its name and product which will generate sales, support their customers, and ultimately have competitive advantage in their market. The overall appearance was good, the message of the site was clear, there was more than enough content related to the company and the product(s) offered and free content to educate the user. The site seemed credible and transparent so I wouldn’t have mind conducting a business over the site. Overall I think this was a good site.
