When planing assessments you need to be aware of some key factors so you’re assessment is relevant and fair to your students. Be aware of what your assessing weather final assessment or ongoing assessment, details which have to be perfect verses details that are not as important, be fully aware of what your looking for the students to achieve throughout assessment. Conformation of relevant policies, requirements and qualifications for your particular subject. You will need the knowledge of the topic you are assessing, you will also need knowledge of assessment procedures.

This way you can gain an overview of the learners performance from different assessment methods in addition to watching practical tasks, text evidence and naturally occurring evidence I might see in lectures.
This way I can gain an overview or fair representation that can all be added together, reflected on and assessed holistically to create a final mark for the student. This manner of assessment helps embed assessment throughout the project and means that the feedback is constant. By linking different aspects of learning through holistic assessment you can get a clearer picture of student ability. This will also highlight student’s strengths and weaknesses.
When planning assessments you will need to take a holistic approach, you will need to make sure assessment is specific to a qualification, it needs to be clear and relevant to the topic being taught. The assessment also needs to be measurable, you will need to be able to give a pass/fail or grade on any assessment given and show any areas not covered during the training.
Assessment and to be achievable, the level of difficulty needs to match the candidates being assessed as well as the importance of the qualification, four example children would possibly need easier assessments, but assessments concerning life-saving need to have a relative difficulties so the assessor knows that the learner could react in a real life situation.
