In this report I will be evaluating how successful Amazon as a business has been in preparing the growing use of the e-business.
Amazon.com is a Fortune 500 e-commerce company based in Seattle, WA. Amazon was one of the first big companies to sell goods over the Internet. The company was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994, and launched in 1995. They started out as an online bookstore and then quickly diversified by adding other items, such as VHS tapes and DVDs, music CDs, software, video games, electronics, MP3s, clothing, furniture, toys and even food items. Amazon.com is an American international e-commerce company which has headquarters located in Seattle, Washington, United States. Jeff Bezos incorporated the company (as Cadabra) in July 1994 and then the site went online as Amazon.com in 1995. The company was renamed after the Amazon River, one of the largest rivers in the world. Which was named after the Amazons, the legendary nation of female warriors in Greek mythology.
What is e-business?
E-business (or electronic business) is the term used to describe using the internet to operate your business. E-business represents only a part of worldwide business, but it is one of the fastest growing sectors that provide entrepreneurs with excellent opportunities to enter the market. E-Business allows companies to contact with their internal and external processes more professionally and successfully. Also work more closely with their suppliers and partners to have a better satisfy the needs and expectations of their customers, leading to improvements in overall business performance. Explain how e-business has benefited the business in achieving this type of success Amazon as a business have done many things to get their business to where they are now, from this they have achieved a lot success.
If there had been any internet then there would have not been any Amazon then where would people be able to sell their items that they don’t any more. Amazon have also benefited from having to spend less money on renting stores and land than having to go online. If Amazon had stores around then there would have been more money going out on rent of the shops that are located in the different areas. Another benefit is that it is easy for the customers to go online and buy the product because they know that the products would be delivered products quicker to their house. Instead of going in to the store finding the product that they need sometimes if they don’t find that the product they would have to go to the tills and wait for them to place an order for that main product.
Wide range of customers: They have gained a wide range of customers who can sell or buy products from their website. Worldwide Attraction: people from different countries get attracted to they can buy things that they would not able to get there. Delivering products quicker rather going in store: it’s easy to go online then going to the store because sometimes if you go into the store you would not be able to find that product.
Elderly people: it’s hard for the elderly people to go online and buy products this is because technology has changed a lot from before. Another disadvantage is that they need to have a safe and secure account for their customers because accounts are easily hacked. From all this they have gained major success, everyone goes to their website because it’s easy to use, they have fast services. That’s what everyone needs a simple, easy and fast online store where they can order products which they need.
One of the main recommendations is a physical product demonstrate the actual product weight, with and without batteries and accessories. Sometimes this is provided, sometimes not and it is often uncertain. Often all you get is the size/weight of the actual package that it comes in. Another recommendation for Amazon can is that they improve security of the transaction process to assure customers that they are a safe and secure company to do business with, which may then lead to gaining loyal as well as potential customers.
Use price comparison websites to check the prices from their competitors. So their customers know if they buy the product from somewhere different how much they would have to pay and if they buy it from Amazon they would price which is written. Understand your customers as what they need and how much they are willing to pay to pay for the product. This is because different people have different needs and they want to pay a less price for them.
From this report I have found out that how e-business has benefited the business in achieving this type of success. Also I have stated the advantages, disadvantages and recommendations.
