In Jack London’s novel The Call of the Wild, the main character, Buck, has developed from a house dog to a sled dog. Buck, being forced to adapt in order to survive, has made him become the leader of the pack. When Buck was being attacked by the man in the red sweater, “He saw, once for all, that he stood no chance against a man with a club.
