(hhs.gov.,2014) The ACA help millions of uninsured Americans to obtain insurance through the market place. It has provided funding to promote healthy lifestyles and disease prevention to all communities especially the rural areas.

The role of the Community/Public Health nurse is to perform community assessment of health issues and needs. After the assessment the Community/Public Health nurse develops a plan and implement it. Then evaluate the outcome. The Community/ Public Health nurse primary role is education. The nurse provides information to the individual, communities, groups to empower them to make inform decisions on lifestyle changes and disease prevention. As well as, perform wellness screening and preventive care such as immunizations.
