For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions.
Physical health: Diet and exercise. I have started to eat healthier and walk for an hour everyday.
Social health: I have one best friend of 23 years that I talk to everyday. This is the most fulfilling friendship that I have in my life. She is like my sister that I never had.
Intellectual health: Returning to the University of Phoenix is the way I am improving my intellectual health.
Environmental health: Recycling cans and using a filter instead of buying bottled water are the ways that I practice environmental preservation.
Emotional health: Appropriately disciplining my children without yelling is not the easiest thing for me to do. My three boys find ways to get under my skin purposely. I sometimes have to walk away and take a breather, in order to control my emotions.
Spiritual health: Growing up in a Southern Baptist church has caused me to avoid organized religions. Currently, I am researching other options for spiritual growth.
