For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions.
Physical health: Stress management, stress is what you feel when you have to handle more than you are used to. When you are stressed, your body responds as though you are in danger. It makes hormones that speed up your heart, make you breathe faster, and give you a burst of energy.
Social health: The economic and social conditions, and their distribution among the population, that influence individual and group differences in health status. Social health of a society is defined as how well the society does at offering every citizen the equal opportunity to obtain access to the goods and services critical to being able to function as a contributing member of society.
Intellectual health: Having an understanding that mostly all of us apart from some organic dysfunction in a few persons, are really quite equal but greatly affected over time by our individual environments, treatment, neglects, supports over time. It means also realizing we are all pretty much normal in having emotions, feelings along with highs and lows that continually distort our perceptions of others and also their perceptions of us. It means knowing we are all very young and experienced in truly understanding our own values and our own lives.
Having this understanding but also having the desire to begin understanding our lives more so each day, will provide us with increased interpersonal/social wellness for we will begin to appreciate who we are more each day and also begin to have much more respect for those around us who may have experienced much more neglect, mistreatment, and bad experiences in their lives. Having more understanding of these things will help us become more caring more considerate, more compassionate, and “better able to coexist with our fellow man in more adequate, positive and productive ways.
Environmental health: Environmental Wellness; this could mean having adequate consciousness that the environment around us is made up of many elements that while some elements are easily replenished, others are not. It means having adequate insight as to at least guiding our minds in more conscientious ways to appreciate the elements in our world and use those elements more prudently, carefully, or more respectfully.
Emotional health: Facial asymmetry, its connection to emotional expression, and methods of measuring facial asymmetry. Psychologists have long been interested in facial asymmetry and its connections to – amongst other things – attractiveness, health and personality type. Distinctly, neuropsychologists have looked at the asymmetry of a moving and expressive face, in the hope that it can teach them about emotional processing in the brain (if one side of the face moves more during expression, then this might be because one side of the brain is more active during expression).
The average person goes about his or her business every day, looking at things which catch their conscious interest. But the sub-conscious is looking at everything, constantly on alert for things that might be prove dangerous or interesting. When we run into someone who is, as you say, socially awkward, it doesn’t take long for our subconscious to realize that the person is not acting “normally”. Lots of little social cues are missing or miss-timed. Or out of sequence. We are usually not even consciously aware of this. But our subconscious is screaming at us. “This guy is weird! Possibly DANGEROUS! Get away from him now!” It triggers something in us, like warning us of a predator who is mimicking humans (badly) just to get into the group and kill us in our sleep.
Spiritual health: Spiritual wellness I would say is having adequate understanding of your values. For someone who does not believe in anything unseen, this may entail perhaps having at least more appreciation for the life and conditions that one witnesses, experiences, or feels from life interaction from people, animals, nature. For me, this would mean having sufficient appreciation for life and creation and also a creator and the wonderful, complex creation around me. This would mean having obtained an understanding of how these things work in a way that ar beneficial to me.
I feel only by having an accurate understanding of the scriptures can one, have hope and a better appreciation for the unseen spiritual world and a wonderful hope from that knowledge. Knowing why loving God would allow wickedness only for a time to show mankind cannot rule himself. Having the hope of the end of this old system and the return of those we have lost in death

Health and wellness are active states which are deeply affected by style of living. There are 6 dimensions of Health and Wellness which all work together and when in harmony create a healthy mind and body, Physical, Intellectual, Social, Emotional Environmental, and Spiritual. In order to be healthy, one must make decisions when to change behavior and when to maintain current behaviors based on the results they are currently achieving. Wellness is the harmonious integration of all personal dimensions listed above. The study of wellness includes the prevention of health problems, the protection from health threats, and promotion of the health of others. Wellness is first and foremost a choice to assume responsibility for the quality of your life. It begins with a conscious decision to shape a healthy lifestyle. Wellness is a mindset, a predisposition to adopt a series of key principles in varied life areas that lead to high levels of well-being and life satisfaction.
