A profiling system is a software application for educational establishment to manage student data. Student profiling systems provide capabilities for entering student information. It includes name, address, email address, phone number, race, nationality, origin, religion, age, sex, status, educational background, and other related information and managing many other student-related data needs in school, college and universities. (Wikipedia) Student profiling system is a career-long procedure whereby students develop and maintain a documentary record of their learning experience. (Dr. Peter G. Knight) The Online Information System, can stored data’s, that is, its file or its database, are usually organized in such a way that individual pieces of data can be retrieve and for modified quickly and without necessarily accessing any other piece of data in the system. The researchers have observed that the current profiling system that they use is a time wasting because of manually filling the profile form that is in the enrolment form with the following information such as name, address, phone number, and many more. This capstone project entitled “A Proposed Student Profiling System for the College of Information Technology, University of La Salette, Santiago City” will aid the time of the students in filling the profile information for the student can manage their time in their studies. The activities that the researchers want to develop are the computerized profiling system. The respondents of this project will be the college secretary, students, and the returnees who want to continue their studies in the university. This project will start on June 2011 to October 2011. This project will be conducted and implemented at the University of La Salette, College of Information Technology. This project proposed by the researchers, for they can access easily their documentation of the student profiles.
Purpose and Description
This project entitled “A Proposed Student Profiling System for the College of Information Technology, University of La Salette, Santiago City” is intended to develop a computerized profiling system to automate the collection, storage and retrieval of profiles of the students for the secretary of this college can easily change or update, add and delete records of the student. This project aims to implement a computerized profiling system for the University of La Salette, College of Information Technology to lessen the student profiling process where the student has to write every enrolment his/her profile. The automation of such repetitive task is what the researchers wish to resolved through the development of a profiling system. The College Secretary. This project aims to determine the feasibility of automated profiling system for the easy collection, storage, and retrieval of student information for the help of secretary.
The secretary is therefore an essential participant in the development of the requirements. The Students. This project will aid the student in the issues of repeated activity in writing profile during enrolment. The student will be involved in providing the researchers with their desired process of submitting and updating their profile. The Dean. This project aims to aid the Dean in his/her problem in searching students information for he/she can easily provide the information that he/she needs. The Researchers. This project will aid the researcher’s problem in time management and repeated procedure of filling up enrolment forms. The Future Researchers. This project will eliminate the repeated procedure of filling up of enrolment form for they can manage their time in their lesson.

Scope and Limitations
This capstone project focuses on the student profiling system primarily on the process of collection, storage, and retrieval of personal information of students, Subjects and Grades in automated way in the College of Information Technology in the University of La Salette. This capstone project will only store student information, student subjects, and student grade and this project is intended to the College Secretary, Students and to the College Dean.

Report on Undergraduate Student Profiling (Peter G. Knight, ©December 2002) Student profiling is a career-long procedure whereby students develop and maintain a documentary record of their learning experiences. Correctly implemented, profiling should form the core of each student’s management of his or her own learning. Profiling has been proposed (for example by the HEFCE funded Science Education Enhancement and Development program – SEED) as a way of improving students’ ability to take responsibility for their own learning, and of marshaling a portfolio of documented experience that students can use in seeking employment after completing their studies.
Profiling is also important, especially in a University structure such as Keel’s, as a way of helping students to steer their path through the options of modular degree courses. Students are required (with the help of academic staff) to identify their own strengths and weaknesses, and to identify (using course skills maps) modules that will either provide training in their weak areas or focus assessment in their areas of strength. Overall, profiling provides a motivation for students to engage with their learning experience and a framework within which they can structure the self-led elements of their learning program.
Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Medical University develops expert profiling system (Enterprise Innovation Staff, © 2011) In Taiwan they use the so called Collexis, a provider of search and discovery tools, to develop an Advanced Expert Profiling System that will allow its students, faculty and researchers to connect via a Web interface and help maximize productivity and networking abilities for its combined student, faculty and staff population of more than 15,000. They use Collexis because for its ability to enhance research and teaching capabilities identify areas of productive partnerships and improve such partnerships both on and off the campus. Other benefits include the facilitation of further recruitment and team building, achieving the ultimate goals of improving the overall competitiveness of the University and helping attain professional excellence.
This paper’s contribution is to demonstrate the importance of active roles offered by the integration of repository technology and agent technology in intelligent tutoring system (ITS). One issue to which we pay considerable attention is the importance of assessment in students’ learning. How to bring the assessments of students from the traditional classroom environment to the Internet forms the rationale for constructing this student profiling system. Based on the profiling system, we can further study the impact of Internet based learning on the behavior of students, make the Internet technology provide a more interactive and attractive teaching and learning environment, and then enable students to improve their academic performance.

It is also a system in which the output, or results of computation, is returned directly to where they are required. This usually means that the computer system has a hardware architecture that looks like that in the figure below:
A common characteristic of on-line systems is that data are entered into the computer system and received from the computer system remotely. That is, the users of the computer system typically interact with the computer from terminals that may be located hundreds of miles from other terminals and from the computer itself. Another characteristic of an on-line systems is that its stored data, that is, its files or its database, are usually organized in such a way that individual pieces of data (such as an individual airline reservation record or an individual personnel record) can be retrieved and/or modified quickly and without necessarily accessing any other piece of data in the system. With an on-line information system, the academic and service departments of AUP can access data from a centralized database such that information needed by one department from another may be obtained through the system.
The current student profiling system is a people ware that is manually done by the student, the college secretary and the college dean in storage, collection, and retrieval of student records. There are some problems in the current profiling system of the College of Information Technology. Repetitions of filling up of enrolment form that is done every start of semester. It is time consuming to the students. It is not easy to access in retrieval, storage, and collection of data’s because of slow processing of transactions.
