This would allow the patients outside the greater Baton Rouge area accessibility the clinic. This clinic is expanding rapidly across Southern Louisiana.
This clinic will provide many attributes to the town of Plaquemine. Oschner is allowing women in rural areas to receive proper obstetrics care. * Community or facility need for the building or renovation. * The community need for the facility was critical. In the city of Plaquemine, there was one hospital. The name of this hospital was River West Community Hospital (RWCH). This hospital covered emergency room visits, pediatrics, labor, and delivery. The hospital was shut down in 2008, due to lack of funding. Oschner clinic was greatly needed in this area. Expecting mothers in the area do not have to travel more than 30 minutes to get examined by the doctor. * The facility need for renovation was also very important. This building had to wider hallways for wheelchair use. This building also needed bigger rooms to accommodate expecting mothers and their families. This building needs more space to store equipment such as ultra sound machines. * Type of population you are serving
