What is Chivalry Originally Latin, actually spelled “caballarius” and pronounced “SHivəlrē”, is chivalry. Chivalry is the combination of qualities expected of an ideal knight. Such qualities include honor, courtesy, courage, justice, and willing to assist those in need. If one is chivalrous in character, then one is a gentleman and noble in his good deeds.
